This is the THIRD Saturday in a row that it has rained out yard sales.
I think I shall lock myself in the basement and scream until it stops raining.
If I don't get to a yard sale soon I will have to go to rehab.....
Oh how I long to see one of these......"sigh"

NO MORE ELBOW GREASE.....
I am all out of elbow grease.
Why?
Because of this monster of a pot.
The bottom had years of burned on stuff and I don't even want to know what that black crud was. It was all the way around the bottom on the stainless and copper.
After about a zillion hours, more or less, it now looks like this.
Now that is much better. I might even consider letting some food get near it. But it is bound for ebay when I find a lid for it. The thrift had a Cuisinart glass lid on it but it doesn't fit right and I need a real Revere Ware lid.
Hope everyone found a hidden treasure worth lots of bucks this week end.
Can't wait much longer for yard sales. It has rained the last two Saturdays and I am itching to get to a yard sale before too much longer.

I LOVE SURPRISES...PLEASANT ONES
I have gotten spoiled with the cut rate prices at the big thrift and our favorite thrift. Pants between these two places can vary from 25c to $2. So when I go to the GW and they want $3.39 for pants, I kinda go...."wait a minute"....I can get pants cheaper than that.
But the GW does have a good buy on lingerie and swim suits from the bulk bins. Lingerie is $1.39 and swim suits are $1.99. Sometimes they have new stuff in boxes, bags or with tags. I have found lots of new bras (89c) there and some were new vintage. (Everything is by the piece so a set is two pieces)I like the sexy gown and robe sets or if you prefer peignoir and negligee. I have picked up a dozen or so in the last several months. Some flannel, some cutie pie, some sexy and some vintage. I picked this up last month.
I knew it was good quality from the feel of the nylon, but no tag...GRRRR....but I got it anyway because the gown and robe, complete with belt were all in fantastic condition.
The entire time I was taking photos I never found a tag....not until I was measuring the hem of the gown...BINGO....it is vintage OLGA Bodysilk!!!$$$
A similar one sold recently at auction for $128.....please pick me up off the floor. A burgundy gown (no robe), really spectacular, recently sold for $159!! Now, Olga is really good stuff, but I had rather pay the rent!! I am tripping all over my myself trying to get it listed. That baby is going on today!! And since I am willing to wait for the slow dime, I am going BIN and see what happens.
You can believe that my radar is up for Olga and I know where to look for the tag...the hem of the gown.
Keep your eyes open and GO WITH YOUR GUT!!!

FINALLY ESCAPED FROM THE HOUSE!!
It's been weeks since I have been able to thrift.
I was having withdrawal pains.
SweetiePie suggested that we go to our favorite thrift, which is about 40 miles away. When we go we usually make a day of it. It is on the other side of Raleigh and takes about 45min to an hour to get there, if traffic is good. When we were first married we lived there for about a year and a half. Wow, have things changes in the years since.
This thrift is a church run thrift and the volunteers are all so helpful and friendly. They have lots of great stuff and the prices are really good. The only bad thing is that my phone won't work inside the building. It was an old grocery store and I don't think they have wifi.
On to thrifting!!
They had a huge sale on shoes. $2.00 a pair for any shoes!!! I found two pairs of Doc Martens, Bally loafers, David Tate mules, Naturalizer pumps, Easy Spirit, Clarks clogs and White Mtn.clogs (bad buy, but only $2.00). Sweetie Pie said that they are probably still talking about all of my shoes, 13 pair total. I think not. Besides, who cares? The shoes were $2.00 and I couldn't pass that up even though they aren't spring.
I was excited!!
On to housewares I went. I always find some neat stuff there. They also have lots of X stitch kits and charts and stuff and I can usually find some great patters for 25c.
Check out the vintage Pyrex. It is all there and the only damage is a teeny tiny flea bite on the bottom of the handle. Yeah!!
And of course I couldn't pass up the toy section.
Couldn't pass up the bag of plush for $1.50, 15 in there so that is 10c each!!. A bag of kinex pieces, $$, a sealed paint by number and a cool scientific solar system thingy that expands.
A great day with SweetiePie and since he was such a patient and helpful guy we HAD to detour by the DQ before we came home. Yum, yum!!

ALMOST THERE....MORE STUFF MOVED
My life has been consumed with this moving and rearranging. I sometimes think it will never end. But I can see the light at the end of the tunnel....almost....its very far away and not too bright. Like me!!
Moved more boxes. Moved more stuff.
Donated more stuff.
Finally got time to go to the Y and work out.
HEAVEN....never thought I would say that about working out!! but it felt so good to walk the track and swim laps in the pool.
Progress so far
This corner is for stuff to list and hopefully sell. I have my backdrop for photos on the closet door and lights set up but they come down for access to the closet. You can't see my toy stash between the totes and shelf. See the vintage potty chair? I don't need to leave the room for anything!!
The work desk. I can sit my light box on the desk and take photos or better yet I could use it to do my income taxes.
The craft corner side of the room, the desk is to the left. The book case has little boxes of stuff that I have no idea what to do with. All of the paint brushes are in front of the TV, like I have time to look at TV. I love picnic baskets for storage!!
This is a box of my Mom's things that I need to clean, photograph and list. Lots of 50's jewelry in there plus some other goodies.
With all of this stuff it will be 2013 before I can make a thrift store run without feeling guilty.
I wonder what I have missed at the thrift store lately?

THE CRAFT EBAY MOVE.....I'M DYING HERE
I have been working on this room for almost two weeks now and we finally have the room cleaned out for the nephew. I still haven't painted but that will have to wait. The room is large enough to move stuff around and do one wall at the time.
The "new" ebay craft room downstairs is filled to the brim and threatening to take over everything.
Seeyou can barely see the shelves. This is the ebay side, with a bit of display stuff thrown in.
This is the craft sideSince I have taken these photos I have moved my desk down and you can barely turn around in there.
One good thing has happened out of all of this. I can put my light box on the desk and use my Ott lights to light the items. Looking better than with my other crappy set up.

LIFE IS TOO SHORT FOR BAD CHOCOLATE...
For my recent birthday my daughter gave me some chocolate....the good stuff.
I have decided that at my advanced age that life is too short for bad chocolate and from now on I will only consume the good stuff.
Silver platter is optional...
I would show you the wrappers, but....ah....I seem to have misplaced them.....
